Mise-en-scene: Lenny and Jimmy will appear in this scene. Lenny meets Jimmy in an old building. Lenny makes sure the man is Jimmy then kills him. By the way Jimmy wants to use 20 thousands dollars to save his life, but Lenny didn’t agree. Lenny just want kill Jimmy for his wife.
Colors: black white and color is used in this scene. In this scene black white is used in most time. When Lenny talk something about his wife there is color scene appeared. The color scene shows his wife. So we can find there is relationship in these three characters. The black white is one of timeline in this movie which we can find it easy. The black white is tell the story from begin to end.
Sound: at the beginning of this scene there is no background music, only the dialogue between Lenny and Jimmy. When Lenny hit Jimmy, we can hear light background music. This background is score, we can hear the similar background music in most movies, when someone killed a person and there is only the man in the place. The background music will be appeared.
Dialogue: the dialogue is between Lenny and Jimmy. The dialogue is about Lenny making sure the man is Jimmy. Through the dialogue we can find Jimmy knows Lenny and Tedyy, and teddy plan this scene. Because at first Jimmy want to find teddy in the building. And Teddy tells Lenny that the killer is in the building.
Contrasting areas: in this scene we can see when Lenny looks at Jimmy, it gives that I am waiting for you, now I am got you. On Jimmy’s face we can find he is looks like surprise, because Jimmy want find teddy. But Jimmy don’t afraid at beginning, he knows Lenny and teddy are together. He thought this is a joke. After few seconds, Lenny wants to kill Jimmy. Now Jimmy is afraid and try to use money to save his life. The color scene shows us Lenny just want kill Jimmy for his wife.
Lighting: this scene is black white. Through the lighting we can find the expression on each face.
Character Relationships: in this scene there are three characters: Lenny, Lenny’s wife and Jimmy. From the dialogue we can find that Jimmy is the killer who kill Lenny’s wife in Lenny’s mind. Now Lenny want to kill Jimmy for his wife.
Character movement: they are moving in this scene. At first they stay tell and talk to each other. When Lenny know the man is Jimmy, Lenny run to Jimmy and grab Jimmy to hit him. At last Lenny use his hands grab Jimmy’s neck to kill him.
Time: each shot nearly take 3-5 seconds in this scene.
Editing Style: There are lots short sequences. When it shows Lenny, Lenny ask question or talk something, then change to Jimmy. Shot is repeat change between Lenny and Jimmy.
Transitions: jump cut is used in this scene. Due to there is many dialogue between too guys. Who are speaking then shot will follow that man. This is a usually way used in most movie.
Shot types: close up, medium shot, long shot are used in this scene. When they are talking, it shows close up or medium shot. When Lenny hit Jimmy, it shows long shot.
Camera Angle: when Lenny and Jimmy talking at beginning, the camera angle is shoulder view. Then it use low angle to show Jimmy almost killed by Lenny at ground and one shot of Lenny’s wife.
Camera Movement: pan left and tracking shot is the camera movement in this scene. When Lenny grab Jimmy then try move to another place. The camera follows Lenny.
Depth of Field: all the shot is clear, people can get information very clear in this scene. no foreground or background is used.
Total Composition: Lenny trust Jimmy is the killer. Is it true? Lenny doesn’t care it. He just want to find john G to provide him alive. Anybody can be john G in Lenny’s mind.
